Jenny Freeman Copeland
Jenny Copeland was born on April 14, 1879 and died September 28, 1956. She is considered the town’s foremost historian. She lived with her sister and wrote “Every Day But Sunday” a history of Mansfield in the “Romantic Age of New England Industry”, published in 1936. She founded the Mansfield Historic Society and on her death her house at 53 Rumford Avenue was bequeathed to the Historical Society. Her book was a source of historical information for the artist, Ian.
